Second Wave Confirmed!

We sent a team out last week to confirm sightings of a herd headed westward. We lost track of our team and the herd somwhere in the area around Hancock, Maryland. A second tracking/rescue team was assembled and dispatched on last Friday the sole survivor just returned with grim news. A significant herd of ZTBs was seen transiting westwards, generally along Interstates 70 and 68. There have been sightings all along that route, and Cumberland and Frostberg, Maryland seem to be seriously infected. Additionally, there have been infections reported from Morgantown, West Virginia, and as far north and west as Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where it seems like a serious outbreak is in the works as well. We are a little overwhelmed with that news, we’ll catch up on the rest of the world in the near future. Stay safe and don’t get bitten!

Major outbreak again in Maryland, is this a Second Wave!?!

The scenario continues to degrade worldwide. Southern England, Madrid, Ontario and Germany continue to see significant activity. One ZTB has gone from Illinois to Alaska to Delaware to Pennsylvania in the last month. Another terrorized a Rod Stewart/Steve Winwood concert in Greensboro North carolina, then plagued the Carolina Balloonfest, and was finally incarcerated in Charlotte. Big news here near ground zero, there is definitely a second wave on the loose. As previously reported, we think containment failed at one or more of the local research installations because of a lack of manning due to the government shutdown. We sent a team out over the past two days, and have observed numerous new ZTBs loose in the following towns: Walkersville, Frederick, Hagerstown and Hancock, Maryland. There seems to be a trend, with ZTBs heading west towards the Ohio River Valley, and we will continue to monitor this event closely. Thanks to all for your continued timely reports on ZTB activity, stay safe!

Struggling to keep up…

We are doing our best, but maintaining the site and just surviving are sometimes too much to juggle. We’ll explain why in a moment. In the meantime, here’s what has been going on over the past two weeks since we last posted: Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and Idaho continue to see limited activity, as have Alaska, and Louisiana; there has been some minor activity in Georgia and Grenada as well. Northern Scotland, and Ontario Canada have been very active, as has Germany. Austria has now been added to the list of countries affected as well.

Here at ground zero, it has been quite grim. We’ve been overrun three times in the last two weeks. The suburban Maryland government research facility where this all started was slowly recovering and getting back on-line, and containment there was locked down tight, however, they have suffered another breach. A new wave of ZTBs is on the loose, last we knew they were in the Westminster, Maryland area and headed west. Many of the locals are saying that this is a direct result of the government shutdown, as many of the folks at the research facility were considered “non-essential.” Certainly, response from the CDC, FEMA and federal law enforcement has been slow to non-existent. A disturbing turn of events, which is of grave concern to all of us.

Same sad news

In the UK, northern Scotland and southern England continue to see activity. Patient # 41 – Jack was briefly sighted in London; he has since somehow managed to get to Bayern, Germany where there has been continued activity from ZTBs already there. Patient # 39 – Hugo continues to plague southern Ontario, and has been very active there. Patient # 30 – Logan was briefly spotted in Idaho – the first sighting in this state, but has since moved on to Washington. It has been a busy and exhausting week, and we continue to fight off extensive hordes here a ZTB HQ. Good luck out there, conserve your ammo.

Spread continues around the world.

Since our last update only a few days ago, we have had reports from Alaska, Italy, Spain, Northern Scotland, Germany and Southern England. Additionally, there has been a major outbreak in Ontario, Canada, caused by just one ZTB, Patient # 39 – Hugo, who has been in three countries in just the last three months. There is no end in site, the spread of the zombie plague seems to be rampant, random and unrelenting. Here at our bunker near ZTB ground zero, we have been fighting of ever increasing waves of these evil creatures, and we fear there may have been another breach at the suburban Maryland research facility where they originated. The numbers seemed to be increasing at a steady slow rate over the summer, but we fear something exponential must be in the works based on what we are seeing here. Hunker down cachers, the worst may be yet to come!

Significant European activity

As the northern hemisphere begins to cool, ZTB activity continues to heat up. Germany continues to be a hotbed of infection, and we have now had sightings not only in Italy, but in Vatican City as well. Back in the states, there has been a lot of movement over the past week or so in Georgia, and in Arkansas. Two of the ZTBs incarcerated in GCHQ at Groundspeak in Seattle have escaped, and there are rumors (as yet unconfirmed) of imminent infections in Denver as well as Scotland. Keep it on the down low people, keep quiet and listen for moans before you open that container…

Serious news!!!

While there has been nearly continuous activity on the Kentucky/Indiana border, ZTBs moving in Kansas and a new sighting in Ontario, Canada, we have a more serious event to take note of. Three of the patients we have been tracking have been sighted in Washington, not only a new state, but they were sighted in Groundspeak Headquarters itself. It is not yet clear what the fallout from this will be, but it cannot bode well for Groundspeak, Geocaching, or Seattle!

As Summer ends in the northern hemisphere….

It has been 12 days since our last update. The state of Illinois has now had sightings. ZTBs have now been spotted in Portugal as well. We have also seen significant activity in some of the areas where we are already tracking ZTB activity. Indiana, Utah, Kansas and Alabama have seen significant activity, as has southern England. Also of note, Patient # 2 – Harlan went from Ohio to Indiana to Michigan to Illinois during this time!

Three new zombies sighted!

Rumors abound (and rebound) in the ZTB universe, but we have had preliminary reports that three new ZTBs have been sighted in the Eldersburg area of Maryland. This seems to be a major focal point for ZTB production, as it is near the suburban research facility where Patient Zero – Jonas, originated. The new ZTBs have been designated as follows: Patient # 40 – Zoe, Patient # 41 – Jack and Patient # 42 – Edna. Their current status is somewhat unclear; they may have been contained in the back of a van heading for the northwest, but we are not yet sure. We’ll keep you posted….

Lucky 13…or not…

Thirteen new movement reports since we last updated on 09 August 13. Luckily, no new states or countries have been affected in the last nine days. Sadly, places where incursions have already occurred continue to be plagued by active ZTBs. In particular, the following locales have seen significant activity since our last report: Pennsylvania, Wyoming, Utah, Arkanasas, Kansas, Colorado, Indiana, North Carolina, New York, Grenada Kentucky and southern England. The moaning continues. Rumor has it the northwest may be affected next. Be alert, and keep your heads out there!
